A gap between producing and shipping
Indonesia grows around seventy per cent of the world's kapok yet ranks thirteenth as an exporter. That gap does not vanish. Most of it is absorbed domestically, and the rest leaves through other countries that re-sort it and sell it on under their own flag.
01The growing area is Java
Pati, Jepara, and several districts in East Java. That is where our suppliers are, and where collection happens before pressing.
02Three countries act as hubs
China, Vietnam, and Bangladesh buy raw kapok to re-sort. Buying directly from Indonesia removes that layer.
03Grades have no world standard
Unlike pepper with its ASTA standard, kapok is judged on foreign matter, moisture, and fibre cleanliness. A physical sample therefore decides more than a grade name does.
